Description:

1783 Maryland Chalmers 6 Pence Breen-1015 PCGS Genuine, Holed and Plugged. Type with Large, Narrow Numerals in the Date. Sharpness VF25 but a hole through the I in ANNAPOLIS has been plugged and the missing designs were reengraved into the plug (although the repair work was not of the highest quality). The only other defects are two irregular pin scratches below the date. Glossy light gray and steel. This is the rarest of the three denominations struck by John Chalmers in Annapolis, Maryland, to satisfy the demand for acceptable small change. Seldom offered in any grade. Listed on page 51 in the "Redbook."
Estimated Value $5,000-UP.
